Research Project Funding Opportunity - M.Sc. student

Project Title:
Intelligent NanoFertilizers - The dynamics of soil bacterial populations associated with root exudates and N uptake by wheat and canola

Objectives:
The objectives of this project are to determine: a) the dynamics of the soil bacterial genomics in the rhizosphere of wheat (Triticum aestivum) and canola (Brassica napu); and b) determine the bacterial populations (genus and species level) associated with soil N cycling processes and crop N uptake.

Funding:
Two year funding ($ 17,000/year) is available to support a M.Sc. student through the Department of Biology of Carleton University.  Funding is provided by Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions.

Research project:
Work will commence this summer, and the specific project will be established with the supervisor. A co-supervisor from the Department of Biology (Carleton University) or OCIB is required.
